Purchase two scales for use in men's and women's locker rooms. Went together easily and work fine.

The assembly instructions are incomplete. Here is what you need to know:

When attaching the vertical column to the base be aware that only two of the four females are threaded. Moreover, the threaded ones are diagonally opposite one another (for greater strength.)

Getting the phone type plug into its female socket is hard if you can't see the socket, so a flashlight is recommended. The black color of the underside absorbs light.

You throw away the red thing, and the three other screws and the black plastic thing are for attaching the height measuring stick/ruler.

By the way, be careful when you unpack it. It has a tendency to fill the immediate area with little white particles. If you have a medical office with a janitor, then they will earn their pay that week. We use ours at home, and my wife went nuts!

I bought this scale because I take fluid pills and must watch my weight carefully. It was easy to assemble although the manual did not go into enough detail. The only complaint is minor in that you have to stand very still to get an accurate reading - but that's not a real problem. I'm glad I made this purchase and would recommend this medical-quality scale.
