The American Weigh Scale Scalemate SM-DR Dual Range Pocket Scale is a slick little scale. The only statement I have is when you purchase this it states dual range so you really need to buy both calibration weights. When in 100g mode there is no way of verifying the accuracy without a 100g weight and the 500g will over range the scale. When you have the scale in 100g mode you need a 100g weight for calibration and 500g weight for 500g mode. Now the dual range scale is the way to go for better accuracy as I do need the 100g x.01g range for bread making and the 500g x.1g range for other cooking needs. Now if you don't care if you are (+-)2-3 grams off then you don't need calibration weights. Buy it just get both weights when purchasing, because it not mention anywhere in the product details.
