Product Description
The perfect portable scale attractive enough to keep out, or easy to carry with the built in handle. Plus, the scale is extra slim so it is easy to tuck away. The handle is covered with a rubberized finish that is soft to the touch. It is very easy to read the 2.0 jumbo display which is accented by a blue Accu-Glo readout. A super high 440 lb capacity still reads in precise increments of 0.2 lbs. Instant on technology means no waiting or tapping to start the scale just step on to get the weight reading. Runs on alkaline batteries, which are included.- Accurate to 440 pounds/ 200 kg
- Large 2.1" LCD display
- Rubberized carry handle
- Nickel accented platform

I agree with the other reviewer. This scale's LCD has a viewing angle which is about 45 degrees to the left! Basically if you step on it and look down you just see shadows. Fresh batteries don't help; it's the polarization/makeup of the LCD crystal. Annoying. But as the other reviewer said, there is a delay before it shuts off. I just step on it, wait for the readout to stop, then step off and lift up the left side to see my weight. For Taylor to goof up basic ergonomics of this is a shame. I had a HealtOMeter glass digital scale which worked for one month then just read "E" so I exchanged it at the store for this one. If this keeps working I'll be happy enough (readout to 0.2lb, AA batteries, backlit). |

not accurate, July 10, 2010
This review is from: Taylor 7405 Nickel Accented Lithium Scale with 2" LCD Readout (Health and Beauty)
So I get on there. It gives a measurement.I grab a mug, get back on the scale. It adds a pound.
I get on the scale again. And now it's 2 pounds below what I got in the first step.
It's like it has a random number generator in there, I can't trust it at all.
It only has one function: to measure mass. And it fails at that. So what is its worth?
EDIT
I was researching this behavior and I found the reason for the inaccuracy:
A lot of scales will try to pretend that they are reproducible. So if you are within a certain amount, it'll just redisplay the last result instead of your actual mass.
To defeat this, you have to get on the scale with something heavy. Get off the scale. Get back on empty handed so you can trust what it reads.
Thanks Taylor, now getting my weight is an eight step process (probably can skip 1st 2 steps):
1. get on.
2. get off.
3. grab something heavy.
4. get on.
5. get... Read more

This scale is a very solid, simple, and easy to use body weight scale. It is well built and gives consistent results. The 2" back lit LCD display is bright and easy to read whether standing on the scale or not. It does what it was designed for very well, weighing and displaying! › See all 21 customer reviews...
