I love this scale. It is accurate to a tenth of a pound. It can switch to kilos if wanted. I like the large numbers. The base is large enough that balance is not an issue. We had an old Thinner that was destroyed in a flood so I trusted the brand for accuracy.

this is a great scale: I already own an earlier model Thinner scale and both provide accurate, consistent results

Before I bought this scale, I tried an EatSmart scale which did not require a tap to weigh yourself: that was convenient but I got inconsistent results: and every time you moved it, you had to go through a recalibration process which is a pain: if someone else moved the scale and did not recalibrate it, the readings would be even more inaccurate: I will say the EatSmart display is brighter and easier to read, hence the Thinner gets 4 stars out of 5. I returned the EatSmart scale and bought the Thinner

Thinner is the winner here if you want accurate, consistent readings

Form follows function. The scale looks elegant and it works perfectly. Step on it and it turns on. Then mount up to measure your weight. You can step off to see your numbers more clearly if you have difficulty seeing at a distance. The scale turns off automatically after a few seconds.

Some people complain about accuracy. That is a red herring. If you want absolute numbers then one needs to use a large balance scale with calibrated weights. This scale is accurate to 0.2 pounds, or 3.2 ounces. That is good enough for all practical purposes. One's weight changes all the time depending on what you ate, when you ate it, when your last bowel movement occured, and so on. There are no absolutes. Besides, all we want to know if we are gaining weight, losing weight, or staying the same. A 3.2 oz tolerance makes no difference what so ever.
