I've been doing weight loss since January. My previous scale was a Tanita. Don't bother buying a Tanita, it's a horrible inconsistent scale that now relies on "memory" I believe to be accurate, and also does only .4 lb increments. When you're losing weight .2 or even .1 is extremely important.

I looked at the EatSmart scales here, you know the ones that are about $30 and get a million "great" reviews because they are "consistent". Well if you read those reviews, ie in the comments, you'll see that 1) an EatSmart scale only moves .6 lbs at a time & 2) they have a "memory" in them.

I called EatSmart to find out if both of those things are true, they are true, so let the buyer beware.

Great till it broke within a week., November 6, 2008

This scale worked great the first week I had it home. Measurements were always spot on, and I could weigh myself 10 times in a row with the exact same weight within 0.1 pounds. Plus, I loved being able to just step on and have it work right away.

However, after that first week, it no longer turned on. I bought a new battery, which was a pain to find, which didn't do any good. Amazon is great and is taking it back of course, but they don't have any more in stock currently, so I'll have to find something else.

I hope it was a fluke that it broke so quickly, but wanted to let others know.

This scale is built like a tank and is the most accurate scale I've owned. I read where one woman said that her scale was inaccurate and I have to strongly disagree. Few scales are perfect, but this one's damn near that, in my opinion. The weight readings are very consistent and it's nice to look at as well. This scale comes highly recommended.
